Network services:
First: Intranets

Smart Group supports your business with connection networks to link between departments of your company or your branches whatever the distance between them. The computer network is a collection of computers and other devices connected to each other. The network allows connecting computers to each other and share resources and information. Recently, the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) designs ARPANET network to the Ministry of Defense, USA. This was the first computer network in the world originated at the late sixties and early seventies.

Benefits of Intranets:

  • Exchange of files and folders between computers.
  • Share of printing by more than one device using one printer.
  • Share of software between the same network devices such as companies' software
  • Intranets allow system administrators to impose standards for hardware, software and user actions.
  • Allowing an unlimited number of users to subscribe

Connection between more than one internal networks:

The connection between networks includes connectivity between two or more distinct networks or segments of networks through the common routing technology. This is called the (Internet work) (often called briefly "the Internet"). There are two or more networks or network segments connected using devices working on the layer 3 ("network" layer) of the OSI reference basic model such as the router. Any mutual connection between public, private, commercial, industrial or governmental networks can also be defined as the process of connection or data transfer between networks. In practice, networks connected to each other using IPs. There are at least three types of connection processes between networks, depending on manager and subscribers:

  • Intranet
  • Extranet
  • Internet

The intranet and extranet may or may not have connections to the Internet. If these networks are connected to the Internet, intranet or extranet network, they are protected virtually from access to the Internet without the proper registration. The Internet is not part of the intranet or extranet, although it may act as a gateway to gain access to parts of the extranet network.

Second: Virtual private network (VPN)

Introduction to VPN :

In light of the communications revolution, there is an increase in the need of institutions and companies to build private networks to connect the branches to each other through private channels of communication providing data exchange with each other reliably and safely. However, by viewing the efficiency desired from the establishment of such networks, it appears that it is not suitable to be applied absolutely due to reasons of cost of material and the big space among the network parties or sometimes the plentiful parties. To overcome such difficulties together with maintaining the privacy, the idea of using public available networks - such as the Internet – has been emerged to connect the branches and the parties with the addition of the necessary protection of information during transfer in these public networks, which prevents others from viewing such. This is what is known as the concept of (virtual private networks).

What is Virtual Private Network :

The name indicates the nature of these networks as they are virtual networks that do not exist in reality but perform its duty as required as the most secured and common types of networks and widely used among large companies. These virtual networks are the same World Wide Web, but their characteristics are used to suit the confidentiality of data transfer and maintain the security of information.

The use of virtual private networks

The use of virtual private networks provides several advantages, most notably the low cost, since all what is required is the use of the available Internet network as well as some software for protection without the need to extend wires. They are also characterized by rapid preparation and providing an advantage to the user for free movement without the trouble of the transfer of any equipment. One example is the powers given to some of the staff where they can accomplish their work from locations outside the workplace by connection with the organization or company network through a virtual network.

Advantages of IP VPN:

  • Ease of management, dealing with it and changing it.
  • Automatic feature (automatic dialing from side to side which allows sharing data across multiple protocols)
  • Multiple access methods and G.SHDSL (Frame relay or ATM) and telephone contact (VPDN)
  • Potential for better video and Voice over IP
  • Support for visual conferences with multiple parties involved
  • Private IP addresses

The advantages of working using the VPN:

  • The remote workers can securely access to company sources
  • Increasing the productivity of the labor force
  • You can increase the potential of the network for up to 50 remote connection
  • Support workers with high movement easily

Wireless networks

Smart Group supports its customers by providing wireless networks service that help: To connect wirelessly to the network without wires. The network here means the Internet network or any computer network. It is a technique that is easy to use and the fastest access technology. Wi-Fi technology works on radio frequency such as wireless home phones. Currently, a lot of companies use Wi-Fi technology which will become a benchmark for wireless communication in the futures It helps users in:

  • Providing what is known as temporary connections for any network using cable system
  • Assisting in providing an alternative to any existent network
  • Dispensing with the several wires
  • Possibility of connection to remote locations without extension wires
  • Making some components of the network subject to movement from one place to another
  • Providing the possibility of expanding and extending networks beyond physical connection limits.

Third: Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP)

Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) Technology
Definition: the term IP is a set of tools used to manage the transfer of audio information Via the Internet. It guarantees sending audio information digitally and in separate packages without using a telephone line.

Voice over Internet Protocol Services

This technology provides a wide range of services. Some basic or free services of Voice over Internet Protocol require the presence of all parties on their own computers to make or receive calls. While other services support calling from a traditional telephone handset, or even a cell phone to any other phone.

Advantages of Voice over Internet Protocol Technology
Voice over Internet Protocol Technology and unified communications enable you to:

  • Reduce the cost of transfer and training, through using potentials of the Web and video conferences.
  • Expand your phone system as necessary.
  • Use one phone number for receiving calls on multiple devices at one time; which helps employees for continuous communication with each other on the one hand, and with customers on the other.
  • Reduce the cost of phone calls.
  • Use a single network for voice and data; which helps to simplify the management and rationalize expenditure.
  • Access to the features provided by the phone system you have in your home or at client offices or airports or hotels, or in any other place in which there is a broadband connection.
